The strong winds prevailed again last week, but we had a busy weekend, which was a pleasant change. We started with a day trip on Friday where we went to Town Pt for a change. Nothing much down there so we went out to the Eastern side of Motiti and did quite well, even saw a couple of whales spouting. We then dropped a school group off at Mayor that night, a bit of a rolly trip with the Westerly blowing but good conditions at the island. Saturday and Sunday we continued going on the lee side of Motiti. The fishing was consistent, and with the effects of the winds minimised, they were better days than we could have hoped for. Interestingly, with all the wind, there was still a strong Easterly current running, normally the wind will dictate current direction, especially after couple of days.
